Preview: The Make Escape Club Tropicana @ Hackney Attic

Make the most of the last few days of summer with a trip to the Club Tropicana Craft Night in Hackney next week.

The Make Escape are calling all Beach Boys and Hula Girls along to their craft paradise at the Hackney Attic. There you can create seaside themed fashion accessories with Jo and Karen from Use It Up Wear It Out; embroider summer motifs (think cocktails, sunnies and bikini babes) with sewing blogger and stitch queen Tilly & The Buttons; and take part in a huge community craft fest, creating 300m of bunting for The Cally Fest, an eclectic community-boutique street festival, held on 16 September.

All materials are provided free of charge by the brilliant Village Haberdashery. Plus there's the usual collage corner where you can "make, take and create" and a range of stalls in the Maker’s Market where you can buy handmade goodies direct from the people who made them.

The Make Escape runs from 7.30pm to 10.30pm on 28 August at the Hackney Attic, Hackney Picturehouse, 270 Mare Street, E8. It's free all night. Visit www.themakeescape.blogspot.co.uk for more information.
