Want To Come On The Londonist Olympic Walk?

It's been a while since we went on a mammoth long walk but this Sunday, intrepid Londonistas and any readers who would like to join us, will tackle the Londonist Olympic Walk.

The plan is to tour the sites of the three London Olympic stadia: White City (1908), Wembley (1948) and Stratford (er, 2012!). Along the way we hope to spot traces of Olympic history as well as signs of Olympic investment, tarting up, torch relay preparation, patriotic bunting, copyright dodging cash-ins and a few of your common or garden, non-Olympic London sights, sounds and oddities to share with you.

We start at 9am on Sunday 27 May outside White City tube station (no planned engineering works on the Central Line). The route involves some Jubilee Line based cheating between Wembley and St John's Wood, and some possible diddling about on the DLR as we reach Stratford. But it's basically a 20km walk. You join us at your own risk. There may be gin. There will definitely be cameras and London nerdiness. We are likely to set off at quite a pace. Pub stops are a possibility. GSOH + comfy shoes essential.
