Preview: Descent @ Old Vic Tunnels

Fancy seeing a bunch of new theatre writing in some tunnels? You're in luck. Theatre company OTB Productions are bringing their regular showcase night Descent to the Old Vic Tunnels next weekend as part of the Vault Festival.

Friday (late) night takes the regular Descent format: comedian and Friday Night Dinner actor Tom Rosenthal hosts a first half of three short plays, then a longer 'headliner' after the break. Writers airing new work include Rebecca Walker (she's written for Skins), Dave Florez and Ben Cohen.

Saturday afternoon / evening is a bit different. On arrival, the audience will be split into groups and assigned to their own special 'usher' (actor in character) who'll take them to see four plays being performed on a loop in various parts of the vaults. Those plays are Rats Nests by Michael Ross, Barry and Ange by Melanie Ball, Relinquish by Ross Howard and 24 Hours by Chloe Ewart.

Descent takes place at the Old Vic Tunnels, Leake Street, Waterloo, on Friday 17 February at 10pm and Saturday 18 February at 5pm. Tickets are £8 per show or £12 for the pair.
