Preview: London Art Fair @ Business Design Centre
The Annual London Art Fair opens its doors to art-hungry londoners on 18-22 January. Over 100 galleries present choice nuggets of 20th century British art. You’ll also find exceptional contemporary work from leading and emerging artists. Not buying? You can still enjoy the fair by soaking up the art vibe, and getting a feel for which galleries you might want to pay a visit to during 2012. The justly hyped Art Projects section contains solo and group shows of different contemporary work in various media, such as painting, photography, sculpture, editions, large-scale installations, video and film.

Meanwhile, fans of contemporary photography should check out Photo50, curated by critic Sue Steward (writer, broadcaster and photography curator). Around 50 works, most of which are for sale, represent a spectrum of contemporary photography from the analogue to the digital.

Your ticket also gets you access to tours such as the 'Own Art Tour' aimed at those who are thinking about starting or building a private art collection, or Daniel F Hemmerman’s (curator from the Whitechapel Gallery) talk about photography and the staging of one's self on Thursday evening – just to mention a few from the programme.

London Art Fair, Business Design Centre, Islington, 18-22 January, with special access on 17 January if you buy a six-day ticket or an evening preview ticket for that day. Tickets start at £11 for a day ticket (advance) online but can also be bought at the door for £16.
