London Stand Up And Sketch Comedy: 25 September-1 October

Our pick of where to find funny over the next seven days

Sunday: Richard Herring revs up his monthly night at Hammersmith's  Lyric, this time alongside Phil Nichol, Jeremy Hardy, Pappy's Matthew Crosby and Wes Packer (8pm, £20 / £15).

Monday: The Blah Blah Comedy Club is at the Camden Head with a really good line-up for only £3 (or two for a fiver): Sara Pascoe, Matt Price, James Sherwood and Dan Schreiber (8pm).

Tuesday: We like it when panel shows aren't restricted to the radio or TV, so we're kicking ourselves for only picking up on Do The Right Thing at the end of its current run at the Phoenix. Michael Legge and Margaret Cabourn-Smith are team captains joined tonight by Bridget Christie, Jon Holmes, Chris Neill and Dan Tetsell (8pm, £6 / £5). There's also a podcast with Al Murray and Shappi Khorsandi.

Wednesday: There's more Michael Legge at the Leicester Square Theatre with his Edinburgh show, Curse Sir Walter Raleigh (7pm, £8) or go to the Soho Theatre to find out why Paul Foot has such a cult following (7.45pm, £15 / £10).

Thursday: Who'd have thought Torchwood's sweet PC Andy was also a stand up? Well he is, and frankly Tom Price is better off on stage away from all that terrible US-crossover palaver that went on recently. Catch him at Kings Place in a double header with Joel Dommett (8pm, £12.50 / £9.50 in advance online).

Friday: The Dickens Inn in St Katherine Docks is, admittedly, not a great pub, but it hosts an outpost of the Soho Comedy Club - tonight, you get Shazia Mirza, Will Smith, Duncan Edwards, Gerry Howell and Iszi Lawrence hosting. That should make up for the cavernous surroundings (7pm, £15).

Saturday: One of Robin Ince's two London dates for his Happiness Through Science tour is at Blackheath Halls tonight (the other is Stratford Circus on 17th November). Every time we see him we come out wanting to be better people. Join us (8pm, £16 / £14).
