Coppers Release List Of Items Confiscated From Houses Of Parliament Visitors

Given the relative lack of calm in London over the last year with this summer's riots and protests aplenty, it's unsurprising that the Metropolitan police have taken a cautious approach when it comes to visitors to the Houses of Parliament.

A recent request made under the Freedom Of Information Act generated a highly illuminating response. According to the Met, their officers have confiscated no less than 667 items over the first 6 months of this year.

Items include:

  • 17 footballs
  • 14 scooters
  • 11 cans of shaving foam
  • 9 harmonicas
  • 5 children's police helmets
  • 4 sets of handcuffs
  • 2 nail clippers
  • 1 magic wand
