To celebrate the launch of the Dri Dri pop up parlour at the Front Room of St Martin's Lane Hotel, Dri Dri will offer free gelato tomorrow from noon. Self described as London's “only authentic gelateria”, Dri Dri's been scooping out gourmet frozen treats since 2010 with a shop in Notting Hill and a second one just launched at Chelsea Farmers Market. Using organic milk from local farms, pistachios and lemons from Sicily, liquorice from Calabria, Comice pears from England, Granny Smith apples from France, handpicked mandarins from Spain and 100% Arabica organic coffee from Sumatra, a Mr Whippy or Flake 99 this ain't.
Can't make it to the free ice cream party? The pop up parlour will be selling gelato at St Martin's Lane until 31 August in the Front Room of the hotel, which is to be converted into “an idyllic Italian beach, complete with traditional decking, soft sand, coloured beach cabins and pebbles”. With the schizophrenic weather of late, heading inside for summery fun might not be such a bad idea.
