Baba Brinkman's Rap Guide To Evolution Launch @ Prince Charles Cinema

The Wellcome Trust's launching a new resource to help teach evolution, and it's all in rap, yo.

Yeah, we can't get away with that.

Baba Brinkman, on the other hand, can. You might have seen him at Nine Lessons and Carols for Godless People or at Edinburgh with his brilliant and incisive raps about evolution in theory and practice. It's accurate too - while he was writing he consulted with scientists, making it the first ever peer reviewed hip-hop show. Teachers started asking him if there was a DVD, and that led to the creation of the Rap Guide to Evolution website which will host a series of videos based on the show.

The project launches on 25th May at the Prince Charles Cinema. Baba will be talking about the ideas behind the show and performing - plus there'll be a special appearance by Randall Keynes, Charles Darwin's great great grandson.

The Rap Guide to Evolution launch is at the Prince Charles Cinema, off Leicester Square, at 8.30pm on 25th May. Tickets cost £10 / £8. Find out more about the Rap Guide to Evolution on its website.
