The aquatics centre, with roof in place. Tiling is underway on the dive pool and two 50m competition pools. The 'wings' at either side will be temporary seating for the Games, and will be removed afterwards.

The velodrome. Structurally complete, the timber track is currently being put into place. It should be finished early in 2011, and is likely to be the first completed venue in the park.

London 2012 has released a new, high quality batch of images of the Olympic Park. Work on the site is progressing well, and according to ODA chairman, is both on time and on-budget. Most of the venues should be complete and handed over by July next year.

The new photographs come on the day that IOC brass arrive to check on how things are progressing, including a look at the changed route
to the marathon; presumably they won't be permitted to do any sightseeing round Tower Hamlets way.
