An exhibition of experimental taxidermy opens for 3 days with a private view tonight at Counter Culture. Charlie Gates makes art from roadkill. Fascinated by old, discarded objects and collecting, "Gates opens creatures up to reveal their internal worlds, experimenting with preservation, manipulating the decay process using techniques like salt, gloss and shake’n’vac." Macabre and bizarre sculptures and installations are the result.
Go and see for yourself at Counter Culture, 7-9 Crucifix Lane, London Bridge, under the arches, SE1. Free from 7pm. N.B. Nothing was harmed for the making of this show. Everything was found dead and Charlie is a vegetarian.
