Music Choice: 20-26 September

It's a down-tempo sort of week in London. It's mostly going to be an unplugged situation, with a bit of cute being filled in both from twee poppers and children's musicians:

San Francisco synth folksters Musee Mecanique will be at the Borderline on Tuesday.

Wednesday is a good night for fans of twee indie rock. Coquettish Glaswegian popsters the Vaselines are back with their first album in 20 years and will be at Scala. If you prefer sincerity to coyness, Swedes Shout Out Louds at the Garage.

Thursday sees of Real Estate guitarist Mathew Mondanile bring his Ducktails project to the Nest. For less reverb, check out Josh Ritter and Dawn Landes at the Barbican.

For the parents out there, Saturday has a wonderful child-friendly option. Kathryn Williams and Anna Spencer are bringing their Crayonettes project to Queen Elizabeth Hall. You should trust a woman who played in a band called Delicate Vomit to write tolerable children's songs.

Finally, round out the weekend at Cecil Sharp House with psych rockers Erland and the Carnival with support from Soundcarriers.
