St Mary Magdalene Church Garden scooped July's 'Sacred Spaces' Green Corner award after starring in our Nature-ist series.

A Lambeth window box, a school vegetable garden, the Union Street Urban Orchard, some sheltered accommodation in Greenwich, a cul-de-sac mews in Marylebone and a Greek restaurant in Crouch End all bagged awards in other categories for their brilliant efforts to brighten up urbanity, improving the capital's biodiversity and cheering us up with flowers, fruit and veg.

You can nominate your favourite Green Corner at the Conservation Foundation website. Awards are made monthly, with an overall winner announced next spring.
