Summer is slowly coming to an end (boo!) but if there is one positive side to things, it's the slow return of bands to London from the various festivals of the summer. But Victoria Park will wrap up playing host to festivals in style with the inaugural London Electronic Dance Festival this Friday and Saturday. Highlights of the bill include David Guetta, Goldfrapp, Calvin Harris, Leftfield, Aphex Twin, Friendly Fires, and Die Antwoord. But if you've already got weekend plans, you've still got options:

Austin's Harlem will be playing their fuzzed out surf rock at the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen tonight with Spectrals.

Highly in demand this week is California's Avi Buffalo, another sun-drenched rock band, but all soft vocals and pleasant tones. Their Tuesday show at Cargo is sold out. They're also playing with the Walkmen at Islington Academy on Wednesday; that show is sadly also sold out, but if you have tickets get their early to catch the fresh young things.

Also playing on Wednesday in the far more intimate location of Proud in Camden is Allo Darling'. We particularly recommend this one for fans of the above mentioned musical style but with added ukulele.

Thursday offers plenty of options to suit whatever your fancy may be. Those who haven't gotten their fill of psychy surf rock should catch the Black Angels at the Borderline. Former Pipette Rose Elinor Dougall, whose album comes out next week, will be at Barfly, and Humble Soul's Denis Jones will be at Kings Cross Social Club.

Finally, for those of you looking for an alternative to electronica on Friday, freak folkers the Soundcarriers will be at Buffalo Bar.
