Major Theatre Collaborations For 2012

Eight of our best producing venues have got in bed together to stage a £3 million city-wide theatre festival for May 2012. World Stages London isn't part of the official Cultural Olympiad but will celebrate multicultural London in the lead up to the Olympic Games with a series of theatrical collaborations. The Stage reports that Battersea Arts Centre is working with the Lyric, Somerset House and the Young Vic to work on a Tower of Babel story and Theatre Royal Stratford East has teamed up with Sadlers Wells to create a Bollywood musical. The National Theatre and Royal Court are also in the mix.
