With festival season in full swing, shows in London are a thinner on the ground. Somerset House has yet another fantastic Summer Series kicking off this week, featuring bands like Noah and the Whale, Mystery Jets, and the xx. Tickets are selling out fast, though, so be sure to act now if a show catches your eye. Elsewhere this week:

You've got two wildly different ways to kick off your week. If you want to start off rocking in a 70s metal way, the Sword are playing Barfly tonight. If you'd rather something a bit mellower, singer songwriter Nigel of Bermondsey is at 12 Bar.

If you just can't decide between the two, Nigel will also be playing the Albert and Pearl on Wednesday.

The Green Man Festival is taking over the Monarch on Thursday for the finale of their Green Poll. The Mariner's Child, Huw M, Evening Chorus, Joseph and David, and the Dufflefolks are all competing for the opening slot at Green Man in August. The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges, including a 6 Music man and a former Cocteau Twin.

We've told you to check out Ten City Nation before, but if you haven't yet, you've got another chance on Friday at 12 Bar.

Their show at Somerset House on Friday is sold out, but you still have a chance to see French duo Air at the Forum on Saturday. Support comes múm's Ólöf Arnarlds.
