The Horrors.
We're back after an accidental holiday to bring you an indie alternative to the footie. This week will also see a takeover of the Southbank Centre by Richard Thompson for the annual Meltdown Festival. The festivities kick off tonight, and events are ticketed individually, so be sure to puruse the schedule for film and music events, including performances by Elivs Costello, Field Music, and a collaboration between Thompson and Loudain Wainwright III.

On Tuesday, Leeds hardcore outfit Pulled Apart By Horses will be at the 100 Club. If the band's live show lives up to the hype, the 100 Club may not be standing on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Lewisham's Ten City Nation will be stirring up a fuss on the earlier side at the Camden Head.

Leaning a bit into the metal world on Thursday (but not too far), Saviours will be at Underworld. But lest you think we're only doing the hard rock thing this week, we'll steer you in the direction the direction of former Gorky's Zygotic Mynci man Richard James at Bar Academy. Finally, to chill things out, singer-songwriter Klak Tik will be going acoustic at Hoxton Hall for his album launch.

Friday night will have the Horrors playings a free show at the Village Underground as part of Beck's Vier Music Inspires Art tour. You'll have to be Facebook tolerant to get tickets, check out the Beck's page for more info.

End your week with a 60s psych throwback. The Keys are back and they're playing the Dirty Water Club on Sunday.
