There's Something Happening @ The Place This Weekend

happeningplace.jpg Actually, there's a LOT happening if dance does it for you. The Place is home to London Contemporary Dance School and the Robin Howard Dance Theatre and celebrates 40 years of existence this year. On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 May, they're presenting over 60 performances from the dancers and choreographers for whom it's a "creative home and artistic laboratory".

To make it manageable, the weekend is divided into 5 sessions and you can either pick which one you want and pay a tenner or it's £25 for any three sessions or £40 for the lot via a colourful wristband system. We particularly like the look of Saturday afternoon's green session featuring one of our favourite dancers, Antonia Grove, performing a new solo by Charles Linehan, a look inside the 'People Working Project' from the Dog Kennel Hill Project, a specially commissioned choir project from H2 Dance and Ben Wright's bgroup with intense couple duet Passing Strange and Wonderful.

The Place is located on Duke Place, off Euston Road. For full details of the programme and to buy tickets online, see www.theplace.org.uk/somethinghappening.
