Happy Pavement Week! The American indie rock godfathers are in town from today until Thursday at Brixton Academy. As we're writing this, tickets are still available for tonight's show, so if you haven't got it sorted yet, act fast!

If down-tempo electronic is more your speed, check out Conquering Animal Sound Monday at the Betsy Trotwood. The Kept Impulses Tour, featuring Haushka, Nancy Elizabeth, and James Blackshaw rolls into the Barbican. For your straigh-up rock fix, catch Joel Plaskett at the Borderline.

If you can't make it out Monday night, Joel will be at Pure Groove for a free show on Tuesday. Huw Stephen's pick Wax Fang will be at the Social for his club night. Fresh off of ATP, Juana Molina will be at the far more intimate Union Chapel. But if you're going to do the nostalgia thing this week, check out the original riot grrrls the Slits at Islington Academy.

Get your dancing shoes on Wednesday and shake up your week with Nedry and 65daysofstatic at Koko. For indie with the fainest of country twangs, catch Harper Simon at Hoxton Bar and Kitchen. And if you've already caught Pavement this week, catch co-founder Scott Kannberg and his Spiral Stairs project at the Windmill.

Thursday sees the UK premier of the Animal Collective "visual album" Oddsac at the ICA. It's a one night only shot with three screenings, and director Danny Perez, as well as AC members will be on hand.

For an antidote to all the indie rocking of the week, with just enough aggro to ease you down gently, catch Brian Jonestown Massacre at Shepherd's Bush Empire.

Rock out your week with the Fabulous Penetrators. We've mentioned them before, as well as the fact that their name is obviously open to the joke of your choosing.
