Admire the Lord Mayor's Coach at Museum of London's new Modern Galleries, opening on Friday till 9pm

Tonight: Happy Endings: Dinosaurs, Pandas and Penguins is a talk by the star of ITV's Prehistoric Park, Nigel Marven, with stories from the front-line of documentary film making. 6.30pm, free at UCL Christopher Ingold Auditorium, 20 Gordon Street WC1 with a complimentary drink and free tour of the Grant Museum after.

Friday: The fab new Modern Galleries at the Museum of London will be open until 9pm tonight on their first day of public opening. Expect it to be busy!

Saturday: It's Dockers' Day at Museum of London, Docklands, open between 10am-6pm, free admission.

It's Nigel Kennedy's Polish Weekend on the Southbank and in addition to a Polish market, catch young classical musicians performing for free in the Front Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall at 1.30pm.

Sunday: Over in Tooting, South West Jumble are raising money for The Trinity Hospice with an upmarket jumble, handicraft, cakey type market in the Tooting Tram and Social. Just £2 to get in, browse, listen to some nice music, spend some pennies and do good without breaking the bank. From 12-5pm.

Crystal Palace Triangle Festival celebrates the arrival of London Overground with music, stalls, markets and more plus Burlesque at the White Hart in the evening. 10am till late.

If you want respite from the sun, come and join our free screening of The Long Good Friday at Museum of London 6pm.

Monday: Tony Law - he of the illogical Edinburgh Festival Avoidance and he who deals brilliantly with hecklers - is topping the bill at the Good Ship comedy club tonight. Show starts 8.30pm sharp, get there early, £5 in.

Tuesday: What do you think of TfL's Art on the Underground programme? Join a public discussion at City Hall this evening from 6.30pm.

Wednesday: Head to the Roxy in Borough for their 2 monthly short film night, £3.
