Surrey Docks Farm in Rotherhithe picked a good day for their Spring Fair yesterday, as the hottest Saturday of the year and an azure sky above brought people out in droves.

Though geared more towards families, the Fair did have a few enticements for adults too: home-brewed cherry blossom and goose flower wine, the opening of a new cafe by the river, and the re-opening of a section of the Thames Path. For kids, there was the usual gamut of urban farm activity — donkey rides, face-painting, and goat stroking, though one young girl bundled over by a particularly eager goat might not wish for another encounter soon.

The farm is open Tuesday to Sunday. Entry is free.
