Festival season is unofficially kicking off this weekend here in London. Here a bunch of shows you can go to if you're not Camden Crawling.

Brooklyn band Bear in Heaven managed to cheat the volcano and are still here for one more show tonight at the Windmill.

On Tuesday, Alan Pownall has a one-off showed scheduled for the Borderline before his set at Camden Crawl. If you want to go a little more agro, New York punks Star Fucking Hipsters are at the Purple Turtle.

Wednesday brings the soulful hiphop of Nigeria's Nneka to Scala. Highly recommended for fans of indiefied afro-beat looking for something a little more daring.

Thursday night has the most eclectic line-up ahead of the Crawl. Homegrown electronic from London's Nedry will be at the Lexington. London garage rockers the Fabulous Penetrators will be at Peter Parker's, where you can make your own jokes about their name if you're so inclined. Finally, you can get all artsy at the ICA with Three Trapped Tigers and their electo-indie.

Saturday, Damon and Naomi, formerly of dream poppers Galaxie 500, are playing an intimate gig at the Luminaire. Expect something a little folkier, but just as dreamy.

Round out your week with the first of two Iggy Pop shows at the Hammersmith Apollo. Iggy will be playing with the remaining Stooges. If you've ever heard Henry Rollins do his bit on Iggy, you know why this is going to be awesome.
