Long Easter Weekends bring out the best in London clublife, and Fabric certainly know how to make you almost want to go to the same venue 4 nights on the trot with their line-up for this bank holiday weekend.
Tonight things kick off with the Advenutes to the Beetroot Field returning for their occassional Thursday night event with live sets from These New Puritans, Gyratory System, Banjo or Freakout and Daedelus. The big news though is a set from Belgian disco heroes Aeroplane. We're not sure if they're playing live or DJing but either way should be a treat.
Fabric Live continues pushing boundaries on Friday when we'd be keen to see up and coming Glaswegian dub producer Rustie take on Room 1, but the main highlight of the weekend comes on Saturday night when Canadian Guillaume & the Coutu Dumonts make their only scheduled UK stop of the year so far. With a background in classical and Latin musical studies, his solo band project sees him trying to make the perfect blend of funk, house, techno, gospel, swing, barbershop quartet and afro-beat. During live shows we're promised an emphasis on experimental percussion, so it should be an energetic and fun show.
The full line-up is online along with tickets for Saturday at a somewhat pricey £18. Luckily though if you've spent all your Easter money on chocolate, Fabric have given us three tickets along with a bundle of CD which includes Guillaume's latest and room 2 DJ Robert Hood's Fabric 39 compilation. To win, email your name and phone number to firstname.lastname@example.org with Fabric in the title.
