Theatre Preview: The Bridge Project @ The Old Vic

The second year of the transatlantic Bridge Project, between The Old Vic and the Brooklyn Academy of Music, hits our shores in June - but it proved so popular last time that we're giving you a heads up now.

Sam Mendes returns to direct The Tempest and As You Like It, and if what we saw of The Winter's Tale is anything to go by, we're in for a treat. The cast includes Stephen Dillane (pictured), whose 2008 illness delayed the entire project by a year; we are literally jiggling in anticipation that they've managed to bring him back. Another noteworthy inclusion is Edward Bennett, who stepped into the Hamlet-shaped breach when David Tennant put his back out. But this is an ensemble with quality busting out of every corner (Juliet Rylance, Thomas Sadoski, Christian Camargo and Ron Cephas Jones are also on the cast list) - if you miss it, don't say we didn't warn you.

As You Like It and The Tempest - The Bridge Project @ The Old Vic - runs 12 June - 21 August, tickets £10-£47. See The Old Vic website for more information.
