Best Not Change At Bank Or What?

It's been drummed into our commuting subconscious not to change at Bank for ages. Today's message however is, no, seriously, avoid changing at Bank as escalator replacement and upgrade work continues in March and - um - escalates from May. If you're going to avoid it, good advice is to use one of the many alternative tube stations within walking distance: Cannon Street, Mansion House, St Pauls, Liverpool Street, Moorgate or London Bridge or use this as an opportunity, with spring approaching, to get on your bike. It'll be 2011 before Bank gets the all clear for resumption of a less congested, less complicated and regularly reliable interchange.
