The second annual Queer History Writing Prize was launched by Untold London in association with Chroma earlier in November. This week sees 2 'inspiration events' designed to get your creativity flowing and your words written and both are free to attend.

  • On Friday the British Museum hosts a one-off gallery tour based on a specially developed LGBT history trail of the museum, followed by a reading and social at the nearby Poetry CafĂ©. From 2pm.
  • Then on Saturday, Islington Museum hosts a writing workshop inspired by their collection about the gay playwright, Joe Orton. From 2pm.

Details of how to enter are here. The deadline for entries to Write Queer London is 18th January 2010. The winners will be announced at a prize-giving party Thursday 4th February 2010 - during LGBT history month - with DJ Paul Burston (author of The Gay Divorcee) at the Museum of London.
