A couple of years ago we headed off to the Good Food Show for a bit of a laugh. We remembered going, or rather being dragged, to things like the Ideal Home Exhibition when we were younger, and not really enjoying it much; at least this time we knew there would be some free food. As it turns out we had a ridiculously fun day out, trying lots of new products various sellers were trying to tout, doing our best 'convincing serious buyer' face when testing champagnes, and pondering Gordon Ramsey's potted shrimp.

This weekend the show is back at Olympia, newly renamed Masterchef Live, and exciting anyone who might fancy stalking Greg Wallace's slow fork removal actions round a gigantic space. We're particularly looking forward to 'The Restaurant Experience' where we can try small dishes from some of London's favourite restaurants. Launceston Place's 'venison burger, keens cheddar and LP sauce' as well as the Boxwood Cafe's 'stout braised shoulder of Dedham Vale beef' are already getting our mouths watering.

Tickets are on sale for £18 for general admission right here or take a chance on our competition. We've got three pairs of tickets to the event to give away - just email [email protected] with 'Masterchef' in the title, your number and whether you'd like to go on Fri, Sat or Sunday.
