The formidably artsy and sophisticated 'squatters' the Oubliette today announce their new 'interim base' at 42 Leicester Square. The building has been empty for 20 years since the last tenants - ironically, a wealth management company, moved out. To celebrate a remarkable 6 months which has seen them move from Waterloo to Oxford Street to Mayfair to Leicester Square, they've launched a website and artistic activities commence next week with life drawing classes - email [email protected] if you are interested in participating. Oubliette is all about providing rent free space and a vibrant platform for emerging artists and to create a community around those artists. If you're a resourceful, creative, handy type, perhaps you could help them achieve their goals - recruiting now. Their doors will be open to artists and partners soon.
