Preview: Little Noise Sessions @ Union Chapel

A host of big names (plus some lesser-known ones) descend on Islington's Union Chapel this November for the annual Mencap Little Noise Sessions. Curated by Jo Whiley and run to support the well-known charity, these acoustic gigs include appearances from Mercury-nominated Florence and the Machine, Welsh rockers Lostprophets and Mika.

The whole shebang runs from 16 - 25 November, and only about half the lineup has been announced so far. The first night, 16 November, looks particularly strong all round - as much for support acts The Maccabees and Bombay Bicycle Club as for headliners Editors.Whichever evening you choose, if you've not been inside the Union Chapel before then you'll be in for a treat. It somehow manages to feel even smaller than its 650 capacity, and the beautiful interior is complemented by pretty much spot on acoustics. In short, it's a seriously special place to see a band in. Especially if said band usually plays much larger venues.Tickets to the Little Noise Sessions go on sale from 19 October, and it looks like you'll need to register on the event's site to buy. If you pony up £6 for a subscription (this also goes to charity), you'll get access to an exclusive presale too. (Image: Florence and the Machine / from Luke Robinson via the Londonist Flickr pool.)
