The crowds came out over the weekend on what might have been 2009's last good weather weekend to enjoy the Thames Festival.

From feasting on Southwark bridge to fire gardens, mayonnaise making to kung-fu and an arenous Boris Johnson, snappers from the Londonist Flickrpool were on hand to capture all the fun.

Weekend Carnivore

We really wanted to do the food thing on the bridge but we couldn't actually find a way to get onto the bridge. We came in on the Globe side and there were bouncers on the steps not letting you on and actually rather pissy when people asked and never actually answered us on how to get onto the bridge. The best we could figure we would have had to go all the way to the Waterloo side (less easy without a Bridge!) and then come onto the bridge. Too much work to not know for sure.
