Watch The Ashes For Free (And Meet The Players Too)

Stormy days at The Oval by The Kruger Kid

Wanna watch the final Ashes Test at the Oval but don't fancy forking out for a Sky Sports subscription? The three London locations that have broadcast every ball of the 2009 series thus far will be joined by a fourth this coming weekend, as the English Cricket Board and npower host Cricket In The Park at Regent's Park.

Alongside giant screens showing every moment of England's glorious victory / craven capitulation (delete as applicable), there will be a chance to practice your cricketing skills, and as befits a family event there's a Kids Zone to stash your offspring while you defend the offstump. It's certainly a better prospect than trying to cadge a ticket from a tout outside Oval station.

Those who want to spend a bit more quality time with England's white knights may be intersted to know that members of the team wil be at the ASICS store in Argyll Street from 4pm-7pm on Tuesday, August 18th. Monty Panesar, Michael Vaughn, Graham Onions and Antipodean rivals including Brad Haddin and Stewart Clarke will be in Soho celebrating the launch of a new cricket shoe, the ASICS Gel-Advance 2. Perfect for when you're at the crease, or alternatively, for bashing round the head of pusilanimous England cricketers once they've stuffed it up against the Aussies again.

Cricket In The Park, 22nd & 23rd August, from 10pm both days. The ASICS cricket event is at 29 Argyll Street, W1F 7EB, on August 18th, from 4pm-7pm.
