Last night’s Art of Good Taste Masterclass at Camino (which we previewed here) was an exercise in fun with plenty of fabulous free food (pata negra! scallops!) and cocktails as well as ever replenished glasses of sherry for all attendees. From Spanish wine tasting to how to shuck an oyster, the workshops were full of quick and easy tips for hosting tastier parties with recipes that even a food and drink editor couldn’t screw up (the hummus, feta and pomegranate dip was noted as a good one for us to try!). After the workshops, mingling with free tapas and drinks from Camino rounded out the event along with a right nice goodie bag (Charles Campion’s 2009 restaurant guide, a bottle of Tio Pepe and a coupon for 25% off at Camino and CD of latin tunes) for folks as they left.

This event was totally free with tickets available online on a first come first service basis. We certainly hope Camino, Tio Pepe and whatever other entities behind last night’s event have more happenings such as this one in the works.
