Sarah Millican - we
It's the final week of these Edinburgh preview shows, so if you were a bit dubious about being a guinea pig for random material, this is when shows start to take on a bit of a gleam...

We can't believe this is only Sarah Millican's second Edinburgh. The affable South Shields comedian won the Best Newcomer award last year and returns with her show Typical Woman. And we love anyone who takes photos of puddings and puts them on their website. Hen and Chickens, 109 St Pauls Road Islington, Tuesday 28 July 9.30pm, £7.

Zoe Lyons is pretty straight shooting and her new show, Miss Machismo, promises much of the same. Catch her in a double bill with the king of surreal, Simon Munnery, at the Chapel Bar on Tuesday. Chapel Bar, 29a Penton Street Islington, Tuesday 28 July 8.30pm, £7 / £5.

Not sure if you've heard of Dan Antopolski? Doesn't matter; after watching his sandwich rap you'll be breaking down the door of venues to see this guy. Did we mention he's been thrice Perrier nominated as well? Sir Richard Steele, 97 Haverstock Hill NW3, Friday 24 July 8.45pm, £10.50 / £8.50 (with Chris Addison) / Kings Head, 2 Crouch End Hill N8, Sunday 26 July 8pm. £7 / £5 / Kings Place, 90 York Way N1, Thursday 30 July 8pm, £10.

Shappi Khorsandi is brilliantly deadpan and incisive while giving the impression of being a total ditz. She's also Iranian, so you might find the odd bit of topicality in her new show, The Distracted Activist. Riverside Studios, Crisp Road Hammersmith, Sunday 26 July 8pm, £10.
