Midsummer weekends were made for mass outdoor events and this Saturday, The Big Event is taking place to celebrate the reopening of Myatt's Fields Park in Camberwell after a £3m renovation.
The Victorian themed Midsummer's Eve event also marks the opening of Camberwell Arts Festival and Home Liveart have lined up a spiffing quirky programme featuring a mass ukulele jam, tea dance, Big Top performance programme, mass carnival procession and artists' sideshow stalls.
Crinolines and top hats not compulsory but cor wouldn't it be luvverly to bring a dash of sartorial eloquence to the day before the longest day of the year?
