Always on the ball with intriguing free evening events, the Grant Museum tonight plays host to Dr Joe Cain, UCL Historian of Science introducing a screening of the original film adaptation of HG Wells’ classic "Island of Dr Moreau". Fittingly for the zoological surroundings, Island of Lost Souls depicts a horrifying and fantastical tale of human/animal experimentation, rebellion and adventure. An obsessive and reclusive scientist establishes himself as the tyrant ruler of a population of mutated beasts - the products of his own evolutionary experiments. Following a nearby shipwreck, outsiders arrive on the island in time to see the fiends rise up against their master. From 6.30pm with a glass of wine thrown in this sounds like a top way to spend Tuesday night. Grant Museum of Zoology, Darwin Building, University College London, Malet Place, WC1E 6BT.
