Though they've been out in the wild for a few days now, the Street Pianos got an official launch last night in Leicester Square. The Pearly Kings and Queens were on hand (as was a BBC London presenter with a deceptively loud voice, as captured in our video) to lend their voice to such erstwhile classics as Maybe It's Because I'm A Londoner, and Oh When The Saints Go Marching In. The pianos are place in various sites around the capital until 13th July, and anybody, from the Chopsticks-challenged to the most proficient concert-level pianist, can have a go.
