Free Tonight?

This is our very last chance to big up the fantastically talented Southbank Centre Emerging Artists in Residence crew who, after tonight, will have formally emerged. Tonight is their night - all sixteen of them taking over the Royal Festival Hall main stage with a mixed up, muddled up, marvellous programme of music, lyricism, nasal flutes, beatboxing, balladeering, celling, rhyming, speaking, singing, drumming, electronica.... a whole ton of original material and fruitfully unexpected collaborations. Tickets are just £6 - that's 37.5p per artist not even including their special guests. Of which it's just been announced that grime artist Chipmunk's making an appearance and Radio 1's Rob da Bank's down there with a DJ set. One helluva bargain in anyone's books. Be there.
