Camden Crawl 2009 Line-up Announced!

Camden Crawl

As the days begin to brighten up a bit, Londonist's music team's thoughts begin to turn to two cider filled days in the crumbling wreck of London - the Camden Crawl. Every year we take a Friday off work and go to have a dance about to some of the latest and some of the biggest bands out there as we figure out how to get into the tiny 50 person venue Blur are playing (n.b. not true, this is a dream) or play crawl bingo as we spot Mat Horne ambling down a grey street in sunglasses.

Venues confirmed for this year's crawl, which takes place on 24 & 25 April, include The Roundhouse, Koko, Electric Ballroom, Dingwalls, Underworld, Cuban Bar, Barfly, Dublin Castle, The Monarch, Earl of Camden, oh! Bar, Purple Turtle, Bullet, The Black Cap, St Michaels Church and a newly back in action The Hawley Arms. The first confirmed artists have now been announced and these are they:

An Experiment On A Bird In The Air Pump, The Author, Baddies, The Barker Band, Bleech, Blk Jks, The Brakes, The Chapman Family, Chew Lips, The Computers , The Cordelier Club, Dan Black, Danny and the Champions of the World, Datarock, The Dead Formats, De Tropix, Die Die Die, Drums of Death, Elviin, Fight Like Apes, Flashguns, Foy Vance, General Fiasco, Goldheart Assembly, The Golden Silvers, GoldieLocks, Heartbreak, Hexes, I Blame Coco, It Hugs Back, James Yuill, The Jim Jones Revue, Josh Weller, The Joy Formidable, Kasms, The King Blues, Lion Club, Little Death, Man Like Me, Marina & The Diamonds, Newham Generals, Peggy Sue, Pulled Apart By Horses, S.C.U.M., Skint & Demoralised, Sleepercurve, The Temper Trap, Threatmantics, Three Trapped Tigers, Toddla T, Tommy Sparks, Von Bondies, VV Brown, The Whip, The XX

WOW that's a lot of (ridiculous) names including lots we don't know. Don't forget there are still masses to be added including big names and special on night guests. We've painstakingly linked them up to myspace so we and you can bookmark and listen to them before the Crawl. We'll also try to speak to as many of them as possible. Early Londonist recommendations would be The Author, Datarock, Fight Like Apes, Goldielocks, Heartbreak, I Blame Coco (Sting's daughter! Got to be interesting in some way), Josh Weller, Peggy Sue, Marina & The Diamonds, Skint & Demoralised, Three Trapped Tigers and The Whip. How about you?

A one day pass is £32.79 and both days will cost you £54.81 - tickets are on sale now.
