The Feast on the Bridge

Londonist really hopes that the weather is better this time next week. Quite apart from all the standard Saturday things that get trashed by drizzle – you know, weddings and the like – the 13th September sees the second Feast on the Bridge, and Londonist is not alone in thinking that this might be something to savour. The event is part of the Thames Festival: Southwark Bridge is to be shut, spread liberally with tables and chairs and garnished with table-cloths. Food can be purchased from one of the many stalls along the South Bank, although I don’t suppose that anyone would mind if you brought a picnic. It’s not so much about the food as it is about the joy of sitting in the middle of the Thames and enjoying London. Go on - stick it in your diary.
