Music Choice: Monday 21st - Friday 25th July

This week the Londonist music team have been a busy bunch, catching Death Cab For Cutie at Koko, Lupe Fiasco at Somerset House, Death Jazz with the Soil and Pimp Sessions and Oren Ambarchi at the Luminaire. We also introduced you to the amazing XX Teens, definately ones to catch this year if you can.

Jose Vanders

Rising hardcore punk stars Bane play the Underworld on Monday evening - tickets are £8.50 each. Alternatively, catch experimental hip-hop collective from San Francisco bay area Subtle at Cargo. Tickets are £10 each.

If you're under 20 then you've probably already heard of myspace sensation Jose Vanders, who plays Islington Academy on Tuesday night. Tickets are still available at £6 each.

UB40 play the ExCel Arena in the docklands on Wednesday night. Tickets are £27.50 each. Alternatively, Dandy Warhols play Shepherds Bush Empire. Tickets are £23.50 each.

Thursday sees Alice Cooper rock ExCel Arena as part of the Motor Show Music Festival. Tickets are £27.50 each. The B-52's also play a sold out show at the Roundhouse, with support from the rather good Radio 2 staples Royworld.

Status Quo play the ExCel Arena on Friday - tickets are £27.50 each again. If you want something that isn't likely to have a heart attack on stage due to old age, then soft pop rockers Plush from South Africa play the Islington Academy as they launch their new album. Tickets are £12 each and well worth it we think.

We always recommend ethical gig trading site Scarlet Mist as your first port of call for tickets particularly when they're sold out, so check them out and beat the touts. Failing that Gumtree is always a friend.
