Snoop Around Temple This Weekend

We flagged this up in London On The Cheap but it's so good we're telling you again. The Temple is having an open weekend this weekend.

Through a doorway off Fleet Street, the Temple is home to two of England’s four the Inns of Court; The Inner and Middle Temple, as well as Da Vinci Code tourist attraction, round Temple Church. It was home to the Knights Templar and is generally steeped in history, learning and mystique. You can't normally get in all the Inn bits unless you're a barrister or location film crew but this weekend between 10.30 and 16.30 it's open house to mark the beginning of a year long festival, celebrating 400 years of The Temple.

Jazzing up the weekend will be inevitable talks on the Knights Templar and Dan Brown's doings, theatrical outdoor fights, demonstrations by police dogs and horses and your chance to quiz a judge. I bet you can catch them out with the question, what is a poodlebug?

It's totally free and we can't wait. Go, snoop, poke about and take photos please; put them on Flickr, tag them Londonist and share the scoop.
