Young Vic Theatre Offer

Always on the scout for the best the city has to offer, Londonist has caught wind of a cheeky little theatre deal to tempt you into one of its most vibrant and newly buffed up venues. Vernon God Little is currently showing at the Young Vic, just down The Cut from its bigger, creakier sibling, The Old Vic (no relation).

Vernon God Little, the novel, won the Man Booker Prize in 2003 with its still horribly relevant story of a high school killing spree and the subsequent trial by media of an innocent boy who suffers with constipation and a repulsive mother.

It’s Friday at the Sheriff’s office and Vernon sits in his underpants, staring at his Nikes. His best friend Jesus went and killed all their classmates, then himself.

Whether the pacy, funny, wordsmithery of DBC Pierre’s debut will translate onto the Young Vic stage remains to be seen but at £15 a pop we reckon it’s worth a gamble. The Young Vic is certainly groovy from the outside and there’s a rather nice bar, open to all, which serves reasonable food in trendy surroundings so take advantage of this Londonist hot tip and bag yourself a ticket now.

Call 020 7922 2920 NOW, quoting ‘Texas Offer’. Offer valid until Sat 16 June, subject to availability. Image courtesy of the Young Vic featuring Colin Morgan (Vernon) and Nathan Osgood (with guitar).
