Londonist's favourite electro-punk outfit Robots in Disguise are headlining Club Eat Your Make Up this Thursday, a new club night which promises sleazy indie and electro-trash in abundance. If the name Robots in Disguise is new to you, then you may recognise them from their numerous cameo appearances in The Mighty Boosh, as The Electro Girls, and The Goth Girls. In fact, Noel Fielding himself is an occasional live-only band member. We've had a particularly soft-spot for the Robots for some time - the girls are famed for fun, colourful, high-energy stage shows, so the news that this is one of their biggest headline gigs to date has got us as giddy as a child after ten bottles of Panda Pop.

Supporting are two more local bands, punk psychos Bono Must Die, and Huski, whose band members are just as beautiful as their own individual take on sensual electro-pop. Go for the eye candy, go for the some stomping anthems, go for the atmosphere – everything about this evening has a lot of promise. Resident DJs Women's Hour and Craig Template will be playing a suitably eclectic mix of music throughout. And as if that weren’t enough, the press release says:

"Expect frequent live bands, guest DJs and secret surprises, some of which may not be publicised."

A polar bear wearing a cocktail dress? Prince Harry wrestling a bee? We’ll be expecting all this and more!

Club Eat Your Make Up is at 229, 229 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 5PN. Doors open at 8pm. Tickets on the door, or from www.229thevenue.co.uk.
