The weather forecast for the weekend spells rain so if you are looking for something worthwhile to do, you could pop down to Made in Clerkenwell for a bit of retail therapy. Clerkenwell Green Association is a charity that supports arts and crafts by offering training to practitioners as well as supplying them with studio spaces. This weekend the Association opens its studios to the general public, giving everyone a chance to buy jewellery, fashion and interior design objects.

The studios are based at St. John’s Square and Clerkenwell Road, and admission is £2.50. The studios are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, general information and opening hours here.

You could also satisfy your needs for shopping at the Fashion Made Fair sale in the Truman Breweries on Brick Lane. This is a sample-cum-clearance sale and among brands represented are People Tree, Howies and Ciel as well as lesser known but no less exciting brands, most of which use second hand textiles to create new clothes, shoes and accessories.

The Fashion Made Fair sale is on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, opening hours and more information here.

Previous experience has taught us that you might want to go early to avoid the hordes of eager shoppers.
