Pipettes Marquee Tsunami Benefit Gig Cancelled

Londonist favourites The Pipettes have had to pull out of their planned gig tomorrow. We'd originally drawn your attention to the gig in our feature last week but, alas, the event is no more.

It is with a very heavy heart that we have to announce we are no longer able to play tomorrow's Tsunami appeal gig at London's Marquee.

Our beautiful drummer Joe has been floored by a particularly nasty virus. He is currently being looked after by one of the Pipettes' mothers in Brighton and his doctor has ordered him to stay in bed.

Joe wanted to give the gig a shot, but he really isn't up to it.

We really are very upset about this and hope you will appreciate that the decision to pull out was not made lightly. Our Tsunami benefit in Brighton raised somewhere in the region of £5,000 on Saturday and we were looking forward to a similar success in London.

It's scant replacement for a gig but cheer yourselves up by entering our Pipettes competition to win one of their very-limited Christmas CDs.
