Cargo is a lovely little venue perfect for sampling new bands. What luck it is, then, that they have a weekly unsigned bands showcase for you to enjoy.

Tuesday night is Demo City night, which this week stars Lorca (yes, the above is the only picture of them we could come up with). According to the quote on Lorca's site, Lorca make "the sound Kasabian think they make". (Anything that has a dig at Kasabian interests us, as we think they're immensely overrated.) Also on tonight's bill are Disco Baddies and the marvellously-monikered Mau Maus.

If anyone gets to tonight's gig, we'd be interested to hear what you think of Lorca or the other bands. Let us know, as usual, in the comments section.

The gig takes place 8pm-1am and is £4, or £3 with a flyer which can be downloaded off the Cargo site or by sneakily clicking here.

Alternatively, if you want to stay in and you haven't had enough of Pete Doherty yet, there's an interview with him on Newsnight. No, really.
