The Warrington

The Warrington

Part of our Best Pubs in London microsite. See if we've included your local.

Have you ever drank inside an octopus? It probably looks a little something like this. Swirls, whirls and organic curls decorate every millimetre of this outrageously gorgeous pub. Mosaics, stained glass, tiled columns... you'll want to lick the decor.

A set of nubile nymphs, playfully lacking in wardrobe, gaze down from the bar canopy, perhaps a nod to the venue's former reported use as a brothel. According to the pub's website, the slang word 'randy' was invented here, thanks to the pub's close proximity to Randolph Crescent.

Today, it's a busy, bustling place with plenty of room to spread out. Three or four ales stand on draught, while the row of kegs is particularly impressive. There's also a well-liked food offering (the place used to be owned by Gordon Ramsay, but the tradition of good grub has been continued by current owners Faucet Inn).

Look upstairs for a less bonkers function room, plus hotel rooms if you really can't tear yourself away.

Quiz night is Tuesday. On Facebook.
