This pub was voted one of the best in Southwark by Londonist readers.
Southwark Bridge Road, like the bridge itself, always feels like the road less travelled compared with neighbouring streets. Consequently, the Goldsmith is frequented more by locals than any passing trade. It's rather lovely, though. The archetypal corner pub, with friendly staff, a changing beer range and a menu that wavers from tagliatelle to pork belly to Thai. In truth, it's more of an eating place, with sturdy dining tables all ready-set with cuttlery, but there's no stigma in staying only for a drink or three.
