The Alma

The Alma

This pub was voted one of the best in Crystal Palace by Londonist readers.

Surrounded by other excellent pubs, the Alma's charms are more about doing everything to a high standard. They don't have the epic ale selection of some other locals; they don't have the loungey interior of Westow House. Instead, we have a good all-rounder with equal emphasis on food and drink. Four draughts protrude from the bar, at least three were completely new to us. One clinching bonus is the never-ending beer garden, host of a popular BBQ. We've seen housing estates built in the same kind of space. So happy were we to perch in the sunshine that we even persuaded our resident bard to give the group a sing-song (see pics).
