If you're walking the Thames Path in these parts, Ye White Hart is perfectly spaced between the Ship in Mortlake and The Bull in Barnes proper to make a bit of a pub crawl out of it. The imposing late-Victorian building is a landmark from both the river and the road, and simply begs you to pop inside for a tipple. It's a Young's bar, and a rather spacious one, done up to serve a well-to-do gastro crowd — even more so in the first floor Terrace Kitchen. The plum seats, at least during mild weather, are on the Thames-facing balconies, with a special wooden belvedere for one lucky group. The place is further enlivened with live music in the main bar, and a splendid BBQ during the summer months.
