Perhaps a little frightening from the outside, not helped by peering in the window to see a table of zombie footballers, the White Hart is nevertheless an excellent pub. It's on the High Street, but away from the more chichi parts of the area, which means it doesn't fill up as readily as, say, the Three Crowns. It's also huge, with plenty of sturdy dining tables and comfortable seating.
Part of the Antic chain, the White Hart is reliable for both beer choice and food. Our Sunday roasts were titanic and well cooked (though we thought the yorkshires were a little too crisp). The crowning glory (assuming you don't go for the Johnny Mnemonic pinball machine) is the extensive beer garden, which could accommodate a herd of wildebeest.
